Funding SOurces:

Behavior Services is generally funded by the regional center and most private health insurances. Both the regional center and health insurance companies may require preauthorization prior to services beginning.

 

CA Regional Centers

California has 21 regional centers which serve individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Regional centers are nonprofit private corporations that contract with the Department of Developmental Services to provide or coordinate services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities.

 

INSURANCE

Insurance is available for individuals diagnosed with autism and other related disorders. Most states mandate insurance coverage for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) but it is necessary to document diagnoses and become familiar with state insurance laws.

 

Medi-cal

The Department of Health Care Services has a number of Medi-Cal waiver programs which provide specialty mental health services. As of September 15, 2014 ABA is available for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

 

Private Pay

Clients, their parents or guardians or anyone on their behalf may pay for behavioral services. At this time, cash, checks, credit cards are accepted and payment arrangement can be made.
