WHAT WE DO
GET IN TOUCH
ACT provides Adaptive Skills Training to children, adolescents, young adults and families. ACT works with individuals with a variety of delays and disorders including autism spectrum disorders, Intellectual Disability,
Down Syndrome, and those with OCD and ADHD, as well as with speech and language delays.
Behavior Services generally begin with a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) during which observation, interviews and evaluation occur. A behavioral treatment plan with preventative and reactive strategies is outlined. This plan also includes teaching relevant new skills, and recommendations for on-going behavior services .
The funding source may then review to decide what level of services is permitted. Services may then be authorized for a specific time period and only renewable upon submission of a progress report.
ACT evaluation and educational testing services are available for children and adults. Testing includes use of standard ed assessment tools & procedures, comprehensive written report, debriefing session reviewing results, behavioral diagnoses, services & support recommendations and behavior support planning
ACT assesses the client's skill levels and learning to provide families and caregivers appropriate expectations of their child or young adult, as well as to create motivation and rewards that are the most natural and appropriate based on age and situation.
ACT is hands-on in their collaboration. They demonstrate how to do a task for the client and family by breaking it down into smaller steps.
